  • Dr. Wong’s Lab- Insect-microbe interaction                                              Nov. 2023 -  Jan. 2024

  • Experiment: Attraction or repulsion of Nezara viridula to different bacteria of interest 

    • Handling and rearing of N. viridula 

    • Inoculation and preparation of bacterial cultures

    • Responsible for running and grading Y-maize behavioral assays

    • Experiment: Analyzing how nutrition impacts cuticle formation in N. femorata

    • Reared insects on different diets and sampled their right hindlegs

    • Packaging insects to be sent for synchrotron imaging 

    • Field work collecting and monitoring cacti fruits at Etoniah Creek State Forest
