Week 10

Not much to say except that I will miss Curitiba and all the people in it!
Goodbye, Curitiba
My little sister decided to come visit me in Curitiba from Rio, so she stayed with em during my last week in Curitiba. I was so focused on finishing my data for this project that I had taken much time to explore the city, so it was nice to have an excuse to do so. We went to many different tourist spots, including the "Eye" which is a science museum that was built to resemble an eye, by the famour architect Oscar Niemeyer. Fun fact: he was also the one who design the capital of Brazil, Brasilia. We went to the Botanical gardens, which was absolutely stunning.
I also finally saw the university's Natural History Museum. It was closed for rennovations but I became friends with someone who worked there, Tabata, and she was able to take me on a little tour to see the animals and specimens that they had housed there. I saw axolotls, huge stick bugs and snakes!
It was a very nice and bittersweet week- I got used to my routine at the lab and I have made so many incredible memories with everyone in the lab. I hope to be able to come back and visit soon!
