This project, both axenic and conventional genetic lines of Drosophila melanogaster flies were tested on multiple different behavioral assays to understand how the gut microbiome may impact behavior. My responsibilities in this project were producing and testing sterile flies, preparing culture media, performing microscope midgut dissections, and establishing a protocol for negative geotaxis behavioral assay.
