This project's aim was to understand whether certain bacteria could be used to repel or attract the southern stinkbug, Nezara viridula. Y-maze tube assays were done with two choices, a bacteria and a control to see which one the insect would prefer over the other. My responsibilities in this project were rearing the insects, making media, inoculating and preparing bacteria, running Y-maze assay trials and scoring behavior.
